About Me

Hello Everyone!

My name is Chevy Monique, and welcome to my blog. I am 29 years young, and will be graduating from Texas State University in Fall of 2015. I am so excited for what my future has in store for me. I am absolutely in love with all things Beauty. I embrace my girly side to the fullest extent. My motto is One life, One chance.

I have always wanted to start this blog, but I am finally putting my words into action.I am creating this blog in part for my FDOM class at TSU, to express my vision, and to produce content that will help women embrace their beauty. I am a makeup fanatic, and I am in love with everything beauty related. From time to time I create content on my youtube channel involving natural hair and fashion. I plan to expand my content to include makeup as well.

I am a natural hair enthusiast, and enjoy trying and reviewing natural hair products. I may be just a tad bit addicted to buying new things. I love to try new hairstyles, and protective styling as well. Join me on my adventure to find the perfect product. ( or at least to see if it may even exist at all.)

Final Class Post……

Hello Everyone,

This will be my final post for my FDOM class, but I am not leaving you because I really enjoy blogging from time to time. I found that blogging here on WordPress is a very effective tool to market your brand. I would have to say that most social media sites provide you with an outlet to be able to market yourself.

I think snapchat would have to be my least favorite social media tool. Honestly, once I actually learn to use it correctly I am pretty sure I will become obsessed, but for now I am a fan of WordPress, instagram, and twitter.

I would like for my blog to grow into a place that makeup lovers can come to to see whats new and happening or just to see some swatches to help with their purchasing decisions. I will continue to use WordPress, instagram, and twitter to market my brand. This Blog post is bittersweet as it is my last assignment before graduation, and I cannot wait. Good Bye Texas State University!

My favorite Palette’s: Lorac Unzipped Cheek Palette

Lorac Unzipped Cheek Palette is a super-sexy pearlized palette that comes with 2 matte and 2 shimmer universally flattering blushes. it is stated to be a $100 value. While I am not to sure how accurate that is, I must say that I am rather happy to have this in my collection for only $25.00. I am a huge fan of the Lorac unzipped and unzipped gold, so I already knew that I had to have this in my collection.

I think the blushes are extremely gorgeous and flatter any skintone. This palette can be purchased at ulta.com only, and I believe it is limited edition.

  • Underrated (matte peach)
  • Unashamed (matte pink)
  • Unapologetic (shimmer bronze)
  • Unimaginable (shimmer coral)

My review of my classmates blog ! Another politically incorrect blog

I originally only looked at my classmates blogs because it was required for my class assignment to be honest, but I am very glad that I did. While everyones blogs were so very different and interesting the one that stood out to me the most was Brittany’s Another Politically Incorrect Blog. I felt very compelled to read through each post versus just looking through the pictures which I tend to do from time to time.

I have to admit I do not follow the news as much as I should. Normally I do get all my news from social media. I had no idea that “Anonymous” released names of alleged KKK members, but Brittany’s blog post has intrigued me to do more research into the situation. All things done in the dark will eventually come to light is my opinion on the matter. I feel that the KKK members should be exposed just the same as anonymous will someday become exposed as well.

I look forward to reading more of Brittany’s blogs in the future as I am a firm believer in #BlackLivesMatter. Most of all #AllLivesMatter. I have a bi-racial family and we are all as equally important. Unfortunately racism exist from every angle still in the world today, and I think we will always have to fight just a bit harder because of the color of our skin.

Check out Brittany’s Blog!!!

I have always wanted the regular Lorac Pro  and Lorac Pro 2 palettes, and I decided I couldn’t pass up on the Mega Pro 2 palette with the cost being so close to just one palette with all the colors that are included. I was surprised at how well this product blends and how creamy  the texture is. I wasn’t sure if I liked the colors in this as much as the regular Pro palette, but as soon as I swatched them I was just in love!!! The colors are so beautiful!

The collection was highly anticipated for all Mac lovers out there, and I was so luck to get both at $33.00 US dollars each!

Shaft of Gold – deep bronze – Highlighter/Bronzer

Oh, Darling – metallic gold – Highlighter

Swatch images courtesy of Temptalia

Oh Darling quickly became the most popular, and most anticipated makeup item in the collection. It is said to be a dupe for a Mac previously released limited edition highlighter called Whisper of Guilt. I was not luck enough to get my hands on that one. I am very happy that I managed to snag this one, and look forward to putting this baby to work for the holiday season.

The underdog award goes to the Mac Shaft of Gold. I believe shaft of gold is still being sold at Macy’s. So be sure to check there if you are interested. I absolutely love this color on my dark skin as a highlighter. Its a lil dark for pale skin, but I honestly feel that all skin tones can get some beautiful looks with this highlighter.  What have you been loving from the collection???

Hello Everyone,

I created a mobile app using Appy Pie. The main reason for creating the app was for my class assignment. I really enjoyed creating the app, and maybe in the future I will decide to launch something similar.

The app is named Makeup Swatches. The app was created to be a gallery of makeup swatches on various different skin tones. The app is intended to showcase make up swatches to assist all my fellow makeup lovers in seeing the true color of various make up products.

Time after time, I find myself searching for the right color blush or foundation online to get the item during a flash sale. The app I created will have a gallery of swatches as its home screen, and the ability to share photos to facebook, twitter, instagram, and pinterest. I also added an about me section, and link to my wordpress blog for more detailed reviews on some of the products in the gallery.
